Chinese Tea
China is the birthplace and first country in the world to begin the production of tea, and is still the highest tea producing nation in the world. Its discovery can be traced back to around 2700BC, when Emperor Shen Nong coincidentally drank water from a cup in which a small number of tea leaves had fallen in. Following this monumental finding, the popularity of tea grew immensely and it was named the national drink of China. Since, numerous variations of tea leaves have been grown, famous examples including the legendary Jasmine and Gunpowder varieties.
