With a reputation for 'perfectly balanced' fine coffee, Costa Rica has built a sturdy reputation worldwide for its coffee production. Specialising in only wet processed Arabica beans, Costa Rican coffee is often associated with a sharp acidity levelled with a medium body. The coffee is grown mostly on small farms known as 'fincas', and are then harvested and quickly taken to state of the art coffee mills or 'beneficios' where wet method processing takes place. The careful attention to detail during this production process means Costa Rican coffee maintains a respectable consistency and remarkable quality.
