Indonesian Coffee

The islands Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi are world-renowned for the production of coffees of  exquisite quality. During the 17th century, Dutch colonists were the first to introduce coffee plant to the country and production has increased at a steady rate ever since. Today, Indonesia stands as the fourth highest coffee producing nation on the globe. Coffee farms in the country are smaller in size and usually dry processed. Indonesian coffees are famous for their pronounced vibrant taste, full, smooth body and mild acidity with undertones of tropical flavour, often with an extended after-taste. The name 'Sumatra' gives rise to the natural beauty and complexity of the rain forest and is home to rare wildlife and vegetation.
