Yemen Coffee
Mocha has been grown for hundreds of years in the mountains of Yemen, located to the south-west of the Arabian Peninsula. Originally shipped through the ancient port of Mocha, it has now been replaced by a modern port and has since fallen into ruins, yet Yemeni coffee is still one of the most prized worldwide. Yemeni coffee is often referred to as a “wild” cup with a distinctly earthy, levelled taste and to some, bitter and unusual. Nearly all Yemen coffee derives from ancient varieties of Arabica beans, grown nowhere else in the world with the exception of eastern Ethiopia, making Yemeni coffee distinguished and unique.
